I have created a couple of 2d drawings using sketchup pro. Most of the time the drawings break up into unconnected line segments. Creating 2d views of the 3d model is efficient and not prone to errors as you would likely get if you make a separate 3d model and 2d drawings. I have had limited success in importing drawings as dwg files to sketchup.
